- Feedback from previous Immersion Training events

Momentum for Mental Health is proudly offering its version of the transformative training that is changing the way mental health services are delivered today. Part seminar and part celebration, the three-day Immersion in Principles of Recovery event offers a dynamic blend of workshops, consumer storytelling, interactive groups and field experience to illustrate a strengths-based approach to helping people cope with their mental illness.

In June 2008, the California Institute for Mental Health (CiMH) partnered with Mental Health America of Los Angeles & MHA Village, Turning Point Community Programs and Momentum for Mental Health to expand Immersion training opportunities throughout the state.

Recovery Oriented Mental Health Immersion Trainings are now available at the following California locations:

Southern California (Long Beach)
MHA Village
Charis Walth
(562) 285-1032
cwalth@mhala.org

Bay Area (San Jose)
Momentum for Mental Health

Northern California (Sacramento)
Turning Point Community Programs
Joy Atienza
(916) 364-8395 x2023
joyatienza@tpcp.org

We cordially invite individuals seeking a greater understanding of the principles of recovery and social rehabilitation to attend these trainings and walk away reinspired and invigorated in the work that they do for individuals receiving mental health services.

The price for the 3-day event is $900 (discounts are available). Because the CiMH and the Department of Mental Health provide funding for Immersion Trainings, there is funding for MHSA-funded agencies and organizations to send their staff to these trainings at NO COST! Due to the high demand for such trainings, space is likely to fill up quickly so contact an Immersion Training Coordinator in your region for registration information. Finally, some counties may have available Workforce Education & Training (WET) funds so be sure to contact your county WET Coordinator as to the availability of funding for training purposes.

Should you have any questions regarding events in the Bay Area, please feel free to contact Ralph Murrieta, Immersion Training Coordinator at (408) 254-6828 x1223 or rmurrieta@momentummh.org.
