FIRST ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN
What is it?Momentum is launching a giving campaign to increase public awareness about mental health issues and to expand its support base. Our motto is "Changing lives everyday."
How will the money be used?Momentum will use these funds to improve and expand its existing programs and to offer services to people who currently don’t qualify for Momentum’s programs through Santa Clara county, or who have private insurance but can’t afford adequate treatment.
Why now?Thousands of people do not receive proper mental health care. Momentum’s goal is to bridge this gap as much as possible.
What makes the contribution a wise investment?The cost of untreated mental illness far outstrips the cost of providing comprehensive services. Untreated illness can result in substance abuse, loss of employment, incarceration, the need for expensive emergency services, physical illnesses and even death.
Who is affected?One in five people—54 million Americans—have a diagnosis of mental illness at any given time. Mental illness is treatable with proper care, medication and other forms of assistance, all of which are provided by Momentum.
How can I contribute?Anyone can help. Individuals receiving mailers can mail their donations. Donations can also be made via our secure website. All contributions are tax deductible.
